Louisiana Cajun and Creole

Food from the South has long been iconic in America. Southerners have a knack for making food that is flavorful, spicy, and completely addicting. In this class, we are going to focus on a specific region of the south: Louisiana. The state has a large amount of French influence in their cuisine, from way back when the area was owned by France. Over time, the food has evolved into what we know today as either “Cajun” or “Creole.” In this class we will discover the differences between those two cousins, and make some delicious dishes as well. We’ll make dishes as such: Chicken and Andouille Gumbo, Shrimp and Grits, Alligator Po’Boy, Muffuletta, Crawfish Etouffe, and Beignets and Pralines for dessert! This class is sure to be delicious and educational- win win!
Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders. Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. You can bring adult beverages if you’d like. We will provide knives if you do not have them. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.
Our classes are popular and often sell out! You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a full refund for this class. There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to cancel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets cancelled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund.
If you have a gift card and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out. If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card.
