Fusion Cuisine: Hawaiian/Asian
May 23 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm$40 - $55
Teen and Adult tickets available!!!!
Fusion has taken the culinary world by storm the last several years. It’s a simple concept- mix together two techniques or flavors from different cultures- and some seriously amazing food can be born. We’ve all heard of “Tex Mex” food, which is a great example of a fusion that works on a massive scale. In this class we’ll be tackling the fusion of two cuisines that were born to go together: Hawaiian and Asian. The “original” Hawaiians most likely came from Polynesia, and before that, Taiwan. As these people traveled, their food adapted to the land that they lived on, but Asian and Hawaiian foods still carry tons of similarities. They go better together than peanut butter and jelly! In this class, these old friends will meet again in flavorful dishes such as: Spam Fried Rice with Avocado Salad, Sweet and Spicy Shoyu Chicken, Korean Tacos with Pineapple Salsa, Poke with Edamame and Ginger, Sesame Crusted Mahi Mahi, Saimin Soup, Mango Ice Cream for dessert, and of course a Mai Tai to wash it all down! We’ll see you there for a perfect Island Night!
Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders. Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. You can bring adult beverages if you’d like. We will provide knives if you do not have them. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.
