Foods on Film ~ All Ages
January 28 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm$30 – $60
This class is suitable for kids age 8 and up, teens and adults! Any age is welcome here!
Since the first silent films, people have been captivated by the unique allure that the big screen adds to story telling. The first movie was made in 1888, and was just over two seconds long! Ever since that monumental film, people of all kinds have been flocking to the theater every night of the week. Fast forward to 2019: Movies have never been more popular in America. Movies are quoted in daily conversations, clothes are made with characters on them, and recently, movie parties are thrown! We are throwing a movie party of our own, but with the focus on food from iconic films. We’ll make dishes such as: Meatballs from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Spongebob’s Crabby Patties, Buddy the Elf’s Dessert Pasta, The Diner Burger and $5 shake from Pulp Fiction, a Double Stacked Pizza Slice from Saturday Night Fever, Sole Meuniere from Julia and Julia, Ratatouille and the perfect omelet from Ratatouille, Lembas Bread from Lord of the Rings. We’ll wash it all down with Willy Wonka’s Fizzy Lifting Drinks! We’re rolling out the red carpet at The Cookery for a night of glamorous Hollywood fun!
COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class. We will be taking temperatures at the door, as well as providing hand sanitizer upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We will do our best to make our classes as educational and fun as ever. All food goes home in a box at this time so that masks need not be removed. You will get a portion of each dish!
Please indicate the age of your child (children) in the comment sections so we can make sure that their recipes are age appropriate. Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders. Bring your favorite knife and a beverage to drink if you wish. We will provide knives if you do not have them. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.
