Breadmaking 101

Making bread from scratch is a unique experience.  What you purchase at the supermarket is nothing compared to real homemade bread.  The texture of the dough, the smell of the yeast, the sight of bread rising while it proofs, and the pure pleasure of the bread baking cannot be bought at the store.  In this workshop, we will teach the basic bread recipe, but, in addition; we will show how to do much more than just bread.  We will turn that basic recipe into amazing creations like herb dinner rolls, cream cheese and chicken stuffed rolls, homemade cinnamon rolls, and spinach and artichoke stuffed bread.  While our bread proofs we will fill our time with come together quick breads like blueberry muffins with streusel topping, homemade biscuits, roasted jalapeno cheddar cornbread and espresso scones with dulce de leche glaze.  Did we mention we remove all of the calories here at The Cookery?  Just kidding, see you in class.

 

Recipes and ingredients are subject to change depending on availability and class participation.  Class ending times may vary due to awesome skills learned during class!

You must call or email the school to cancel your registration at least 5 days prior to class to receive a full refund for this class.  Bring your favorite knife and a beverage of your choice if you wish!  Please wear close-toed shoes to class.  We provide aprons and bottled water.
