Bready or not, here we crumb! Have you ever wanted to cultivate a sourdough starter but just don’t know where to begin? Did our Breads 101 class leave you hungry for more? No knead to worry, because we have the perfect class for you, which is our new and improved Artisan Breads class! We will show you how to start, maintain, and store your very own sourdough starter and the different things you can create from it as well! We will also talk about the benefits of using a starter, as well as the tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way, as we make sourdough boules and baguettes, bagels, pizza crust, focaccia, and different spreads to serve alongside the bounty of breads we bake! Everyone will also take home their vey own sourdough starter! Dinner will be served in the form of all of your sourdough favorites!

COVID 19 UPDATE: At this time we are asking all students to wear a mask to class. We will be taking temperatures at the door, as well as providing hand sanitizer upon your arrival. If you have any symptoms, have been around someone with symptoms, or have traveled outside the country recently we are asking that you please stay home. You may call to cancel your ticket with a two day or more, and we will issue a credit to be used on a future class. Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! Now that our county has moved to Tier 1, we can all enjoy our meal under The Cookery roof again! However, if you feel more comfortable taking all of our delicious foods home in a box, you can do that as well!  You will get a portion of each dish!

Class ending times may vary. Please wear closed-toed shoes and wear your hair up off your shoulders.  Bring a beverage to drink if you wish. We will also provide aprons. We will have filtered water to drink.

Our classes are popular and often sell out!  You must cancel your registration at least 7 days in advance to receive a full refund for this class.  There will be a processing fee to cancel your ticket per person no matter when you cancel. You can cancel by calling the school at 309-263-6020 or by emailing us your request to cancel at thecookeryinc@gmail.com.  Tickets canceled the day before or on the day of class will not receive a refund for any reason (even Covid related).  You may gift or sell your tickets to someone else if you are not able to come but we cannot forward them to another class.

If you have a cardboard gift card with a 3-digit number and want to redeem it for this class, you must call or email to reserve your class spot prior to the class selling out.  If you reserve your spot with a gift card and do not show, you will forfeit the amount owed for the class from your gift card. If your gift card has a 16-digit code, you can cash it in online when you purchase your ticket.
